After the success of the previous year, “Camminare con Gusto” or “Walking with Taste” returns with a new edition. The initiative is promoted by Confcommercio Toscana within the framework of Vetrina Toscana, the project of the Region of Tuscany, in collaboration with Unioncamere Toscana, Toscana Promozione Turistica and Fondazione Sistema Toscana. It promotes tourism experiences connected to food and wine identity, the local area, and agri-food products.
The format of “Walking with Taste” remains the same, but the routes increase: ten walking tours in ten Tuscan towns and villages, with itineraries combining the discovery of historic sites, palaces and museums with tastings in restaurants and traditional shops participating in Vetrina Toscana.
The aim, once again, is to highlight the connection between art, culture, traditions and flavours, creating experiential routes that will remain part of the heritage of the territories involved. Each itinerary will, in fact, be digitalised and made accessible through a QR code, allowing other visitors to enjoy it independently.
The tours will be launched with a press presentation on October 4 2025 in Castelnuovo Garfagnana with the route “In the footsteps of Ariosto”, and will continue until December 11 2025, covering ten different locations, from Maremma to Mugello, from Valdera to Valdarno, and ending in Arezzo, the final stop on the calendar.
Alongside the development of the walking tours, in recent months, the training programme for restaurateurs and shops participating in Vetrina Toscana has also continued, with free online seminars and meetings aimed at strengthening skills and tools useful for the growth and promotion of the sector.
“Offering excellent products or cooking well is no longer enough; it is also necessary to know how to promote them through social media, the web and other communication tools that reach as many people as possible,” stresses Franco Marinoni, Director of Confcommercio Toscana. “That is why, thanks also to the support of the Region of Tuscany, we have focused on the Walking with Taste project, which brings together culture, tourism and enterprise in a concrete way. Tuscany tells its story not only through its artistic and natural beauty, but also through the restaurants and shops that preserve authentic knowledge and flavours. With this second edition, we aim to strengthen the link between tourism promotion and local development, providing growth tools also to sector operators.”
