A new collaboration between Toscana Promozione Turistica and Slow Food Tuscany has been launched: the agreement, which focuses on Vetrina Toscana, will be presented at Terra Madre, to be held at Parco Dora in Turin from Thursday 22 to Sunday 26 September. The agreement aims to promote the tourism sector with a focus on food and wine, in particular agricultural practices and sustainability.
The first Slow Food group in Tuscany was founded in 1995, and in 2000 the Region of Tuscany and Unioncamere Toscana launched Vetrina Toscana, a supply chain project that links producers, shops and restaurants. These are two parallel paths born of shared values: the importance of agriculture, food, respect for the land, biodiversity, seasonality and food as a cultural identity.
After more than 20 years, these projects are coming together thanks to an agreement to build a constructive collaboration aimed at promoting wine and food tourism.
Among the main points of the agreement: the mutual collaboration to encourage members to join both networks, respecting their respective rules. A joint action to strengthen shared values based on sustainability, protecting the environment, and the ecosystem.
At the heart of the protocol are good practices related to the protection of the Tuscan landscape, safeguarding traditions, and the vitality of the regions, in line with the Vetrina Toscana values manifesto.
Furthermore, a shared commitment to starting collaborative processes to face the competitive challenge of the regional tourism offer. An alliance that will also express itself through new and joint initiatives, aligned with current projects to promote wine and food tourism and the promotional campaign of Vetrina Toscana, managed by Toscana Promozione Turistica in collaboration with Fondazione Sistema Toscana.
The protocol also includes the planning of training courses to better understand local products, together with trade associations and the “Slow Food Travel” project to create new routes in Tuscany.
The agreement, emphasized the director of Toscana Promozione Turistica, is part of a broad strategy to promote wine and food tourism that combines quality, sustainability, and authenticity. These are all elements of a sector that adds value to the regional tourism offer, which is reflected in the identity and hospitality of these territories.
“This agreement makes us very satisfied and is an opportunity that recognizes the thirty-year commitment and wealth of experience of Slow Food for sustainability, the environment, and traditions tied to good, clean, and fair food,” underlined Gianrico Fabbri, head of Slow Food Toscana. “And signing the agreement at Terra Madre, the place that is our home, is even more meaningful and programmatic for us, towards the promotion of a conscious and competitive wine and food tourism.”
The two-year protocol was signed by the director of Toscana Promozione Turistica and the president of Slow Food Toscana, Gianrico Fabbri.
Creating an innovative model of synergy between rural development policies and regional tourism promotion, placing the Vetrina Toscana project at the centre. This is the main goal of the collaboration agreement signed by Toscana Promozione Turistica and the Local Action Groups (Gruppi di Azione Locale – GAL) of Tuscany, supported by ANCI, the National Association...
