Taverna dei Barbi
Already fifty years ago there were a great many visitors to the Fattoria dei Barbi, and many of them asked to be able to accompany their tasting of Brunello with a taste of cured meats and cheeses, maybe even with some roasts typical of the area or a plate of hand-rolled pinci. Thus the Taverna was created, where visitors could rest after a tour of the cellars and taste the dishes characteristic of Montalcino.
Today Taverna dei Barbi is part of the Cantina experience, a welcoming lounge where you can taste Brunello and all the Barbi wines, accompanied by the many pecorino cheese of the Caseificio dei Barbi, cold cuts, bruschetta with the Fattoria extra virgin olive oil and some other traditional dishes prepared by Costantino Soddu. In winter you will be very welcome to sit next to the room where the large fireplace dominates, while in the summer the spacious outdoor veranda and the shade of the horse chestnuts will be the ideal setting for moments of rest.
The wine tasting of the Fattoria dei Barbi with cold cuts and cheeses at the Taverna dei Barbi or other typical dishes is available every day from 10:30 to 5:00pm.
Reservations for lunches and dinners can be made for private groups.
