Marchesi Ginori Lisci Winery – Tradition and Wine Experience

The property of the Marchesi Ginori Lisci winery extends over an incontaminated area of 2000 hectares in the Val di Cecina, between Volterra and the sea, made up of hills covered with intact, magnificent coppice and Mediterranean “macchia”. The heart and soul of the estate is the castle, Castello Ginori di Querceto, perched up high on a hill, in the middle of a magic village of medieval origin whose long history is entwined with the rich history of the Ginori Lisci family, full of traders, seafarers, businessmen and entrepreneurs, all looking-forward innovators.

Not to be missed when visiting Querceto is a visit to the cellar with wine-tasting of the Marchesi Ginori Lisci organic wines Montescudaio DOC and their extra-virgin olive oil. Visitors are accompanied on a short pleasant walk along the alleys of the village and can discover the history of the Castle and the family Ginori Lisci then reach the area where wine production takes place. The Ginori Lisci family has restructured and restored the old buildings formerly used for farming and the old theatre and have created an ideal space for the production of top quality and biological wines. The visit ends with tasting in our Wine Shop “la Dispensa del Castello”, set up in the charming old olive press of the village, with original machinery still in place, including the beautiful original stone mill.
