Fattoria La Leccia is located in the hills on the northern slopes of Montespertoli, in the heart of Chianti, in an area with centuries-old winemaking heritage. The 20 hectares of vineyards, situated at an altitude of 200 metres, are sheltered to the north by the Apennines, while to the west they benefit from the fertile sea breezes. The soil is composed of complex clays, noble sands, and rich alluvial gravel, which — combined with hot summers and significant overnight temperature drops — yields wines that are fresh, flavourful, and elegant.
The farm is committed to meaningful change through the promotion of native grape varieties, Sangiovese and Trebbiano, and their varied expressions; through a careful pursuit of quality via the parcel-by-parcel work across the estate’s 12 vineyards and their respective micro-vinification; and through the rediscovery of ancient winemaking methods alongside the exploration of new experimental approaches. Fattoria La Leccia has been owned by the Bagnoli family since the 1970s. Beginning in 2013, the new generations decided to take care of this precious agricultural estate with the passion, balance, and pride inherited from a longstanding entrepreneurial tradition.
Fattoria La Leccia honours nature through fundamental choices such as organic certification, olive growing, beekeeping, and the stewardship of the woodland surrounding the estate — all essential elements for biodiversity and environmental regeneration. The use of machinery in the winemaking process, both in the fields and in the cellar, is kept to a minimum, leaving ample room for human hands.
